About the Places Festival
The Places Festival is Germany’s first festival for virtual reality. Since 2018, the event in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf – in the middle of the Ruhr metropolis – has brought together tech experts, start-ups, young professionals, players from business and science, and the general public. The festival is a place where innovative applications and real solutions can be tried out, the current state of XR technologies is discussed and an interdisciplinary exchange is in the foreground. The festival will take place for the fourth time in early May 2023 and will bring the German and European XR scene to the neighborhood around Bochumer Straße in Gelsenkirchen. The Places Festival is made possible by the city of Gelsenkirchen.
