Are you interested in actively participating in the festival? Then apply at info@places-festival.de as a program partner or to participate in the hackathon. Here you can also find our calls on “Better learning in XR” and “XR brings people together”.

The festival area stretches across Bochumer Straße, from the mxr lab, to the Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche, to the old KauVer supermarket.

The easiest way to get there is by train to Gelsenkirchen-Hauptbahnhof/ main station. It’s roughly a 10 minutes walk to reach the festival area, if you leave the main station in southern direction. Or you can take the 302 train, which is roughly a 5 minute ride. Get out at Wissenschaftspark or Stephanstraße. We also recommend taking the bike. This way you are super flexible on the festival area and can get from A to B easily.
If you drive, enter the address “Cramerweg 1” into your navigation system. Here you will find a parking lot with enough space. Parking along the Bochumer Straße is not recommended. Otherwise, the parking lot of the Gesamtschule Ückendorf is also available on Saturday.

At the moment there are no special hygiene requirements for the festival that will take place in May. However, we ask you to be careful in case you show any symptoms of illness.

Access to our locations is only possible for visitors aged 16 and above. Younger VR-interested persons must be accompanied by an adult to visit our locations.
